Infection Control & Safety

Patients with weak immune systems in our health care facilities are at risk when exposed to germs. Help ensure that both patients and visitors are protected from the spread of infections.

Be sure to let staff know when admitted to a health care facility if you have an infectious disease. If you’ve recently been diagnosed with Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), notify care staff that you’re MRSA positive.

CLEAN HANDS:  Protect yourself and others by using good hand washing habits. It’s very important you clean your hands often and completely. As part of your commitment to hand hygiene, VCH encourages you to politely ask health care providers if they have cleaned their hands before providing care. Alcohol-based liquid/foam hand sanitizers should be made available throughout a facility.
